1.3 Hectares of Kakhetian Earth
Our Microclimate
Located 104 km from Tbilisi in the heart of Kakheti, our 1.3-hectare vineyard sits in the village of Kvemo Khodasheni. Kakheti stretches across wide valleys and gentle foothills framed by the Greater and Lesser Caucasus mountains, nourished by the Alazani and Iori rivers.
Shielded from Black Sea moisture by the Likhi Ridge and sheltered locally by the Gombori Range, our region enjoys warm, sunny summers, crisp winters, and balanced seasonal rainfall. These conditions create ideal natural stress for our vines—yielding grapes with rich concentration, vibrant acidity, and deep character.
Raw Terroir & Native Varieties
Our plot in Kvemo Khodasheni features nutrient-rich, mineral-dense soils that force grape roots to dig deep. We cultivate indigenous Georgian varieties perfectly adapted to this terroir over millennia:
- Rkatsiteli, Mtsvane, Kisi: Drawing crisp minerality and aromatic depth from the alluvial earth for our traditional amber wines.
- Saperavi: Thriving in full sun exposure to build deep color, firm structure, and dark fruit complexity.
Living Earth & Natural Biodiversity
Great wine starts long before the Qvevri—it begins with healthy soil and a living ecosystem:
- Organic Practices: We avoid synthetic pesticides, herbicides, and systemic chemical treatments, allowing wild grasses and natural cover crops to enrich the soil.
- Hand-Harvested: Every cluster is picked by hand at peak balance, ensuring only pristine fruit enters our Marani.
- Ecosystem in Harmony: Surrounded by native flora and fauna, our vineyard functions as a balanced, self-sustaining micro-environment.
